Professional Development and
Small Business Development Workshops
Short workshops are held each year to meet the needs
of small businesses, local non-profit and state agencies
and area employers seeking training, continuing education
and certification opportunities for their employees.
Customized workshops to meet specific employer’s

Foreign Film Series
During the winter months, the Kachemak Bay Campus
Student Association sponsors on Friday evenings a
weekly foreign film, open to both students and the

Student Art Showcase
At the end of each academic year, KBC holds an exhibit
of students’ art work. It features an opening
reception for the artists. The public is encouraged
to attend.
Elderhostel
The Kachemak Bay Campus annually offers week-long
Elderhostel programs focusing on the “Natural
History and Culture of Kachemak Bay.” As a member
of the nation’s largest educational and travel
organization for adults 55 and over, our program provides
the enrichment of lifelong and exceptional learning
opportunities at a remarkable value. The web site

Visiting Writers’ Series
Kachemak Bay Campus sponsors a Visiting Writers' Series
featuring nationally recognized authors from Alaska
and the lower 48. Activities include workshops and
readings.
Kachemak Bay Writers’ Conference
The Kachemak Bay Campus sponsors the statewide Kachemak
Bay Writers’ Conference, featuring nationally
acclaimed and award-winning authors, editors and agents
from throughout the U.S. including Alaska. It provides
an opportunity for professional writers, faculty,
aspiring writers, student and literary enthusiasts
to gather to discuss the art, process and technique
of creative writing along with related topics. A wide
variety of workshops, panel presentations, craft talks
and readings are held to enhance the literary arts
