Requesting items online through the Joint Library Catalog

The request system is not available during the summer and over the Christmas/New Year break when the library is closed.

Our campus began participating in the request system in January 2002. To place an on-line request, search the JLC for the item and click on the "Place Request" link above the record for that item. You will be prompted for your library card number (10-digits, starts with 200) and PIN (last 4 digits of your SSN unless you change it after logging in to your library account).

The item will arrive at our library, just as ILLs do; however, requested items can be returned to our library. You do not have to mail them back.

You can do this from home since you may place requests from any Internet-connected computer.

You can view a list of your outstanding requests from your account in the JLC.

Keep in mind that requests stay in the system until filled for a default period of 4 months. If you need an item within a shorter time period, indicate the last date you can use it.

You also have a choice of pickup locations. The default for KBC patrons is our campus but you can choose another library if you prefer.
