Interlibrary Loans (ILLs)

When you need a book or other item not owned by our library or when you need an article that is not available on-line, you may search for and request materials through the interlibrary loan system. You can search the Joint Library Catalog (JLC) and WorldCat to find what is available at other libraries. (NOTE: If an item is in the JLC you may be able to place a request for it on-line.)

If using the Joint Library Catalog, click on Joint Library Catalog, then My Account. Log into your account using your KBC Library Card # and PIN; keep your account information current (phone #, email address, etc.). Then click on Library Catalog and begin your search using the various options available. When a desired item is found, click on Place Hold and specify the pickup location as UAA Homer.

If using WorldCat, you will need to request the desired items through the KBC Library Assistant. There is no fee for requesting books via WorldCat, but you are responsible for sending the items back to the lending library which includes paying the postage. You will get a preaddressed mailing envelope to make the return easier.

When requested items arrive at the KBC Library, you will be notified via email and phone. The items should be picked up at the KBC Library, or you may make other arrangements with the Library Assistant.

ILL materials should be returned to the KBC Library Assistant by the due date or late fees will be charged. Renewals are at the discretion of the lending library.

Please allow at least 7-10 days for your ILLs to arrive.
