FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
Get a “Jump” on the rest of the crowd. Start
your college education while still in high school. Kenai
Peninsula College – University of Alaska Anchorage
has a way to help you get going NOW!
JUMP START! Allows you to take up to six (6) college credits
each semester of your senior year. That’s a possible
12 semester credits on you college transcript before you
are out of high school. These credits can start you toward
a college degree, give you a new skill or help you make
decisions for life after high school. The best part, it’s
CHEAP (oops, we mean INEXPENSIVE)!!! You pay just $35 per
credit, plus textbooks, fees and transportation costs.
This terrific deal is brought to you by KPC/UAA and the
Kenai Peninsula Borough. We want YOU to have access to classes
not offered at your high school AND we want you to get to
know us. Once you’ve been to KPC, we think you’ll
be back. We offer great instructors, a personal environment,
and transferable university course credits.
KPC makes it easy to get a JUMP START! on college. So how
do you get this wonderful deal?
- Be a senior in high school.
- Fill out
your part of the form.
- Take the form to your high school counselor,
principal and a parent for signatures. (Students participating
in home-school programs, must provide documentation verifying
12th grade level status. Signature of home-school coordinator
in addition to parent would be helpful, but not required.)
- Come to KPC Student Services during
general registration (with your completed Jump Start form)
to register for classes.
All signatures required at the time of
registration.
Students enrolled for college credit are responsible for
official registration, attendance and add/drop procedures.
The college reserves the right to limit courses available
to the JUMP START! program.
