Director's Message
WELCOME to the Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula-University of Alaska Anchorage!
We are located in Homer, 225 miles south of Anchorage on the southern tip of the
Kenai Peninsula and on the scenic shores of Kachemak Bay surrounded by magnificent natural
beauty.
Our campus serves 400 to 600 students each semester. With an emphasis on small classes
and personal attention, both recent high school graduates and returning adult students of
all ages and backgrounds find the warm and friendly atmosphere of Kachemak Bay Campus
ideal for meeting their educational and lifelong learning goals.
Our courses are fully accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges to
ensure that credits are able to be transferred to any other accredited college in the
United States. Our programs reflect the University of Alaska’s mission of providing
quality, accessible academic courses, vocational training, professional development and
community/continuing education. Students may complete or work toward a variety of certificates,
associate and baccalaureate degrees. We continually adapt our courses and programs to meet the
needs of the communities we serve.
Currently, classes, faculty and services are offered at the ‘East Campus’ located
at 533 E. Pioneer Avenue and ‘West Campus’ at 360 W. Pioneer Avenue. However, by
2010 our campus will be consolidated with our East Campus at one centralized location as a
result of a ’08 legislative appropriation allowing us to purchase and renovate.
Our top notch staff and faculty include permanent and adjunct faculty as well as support and
administrative staff. They are dedicated to excellence and to ensuring that your educational
experiences here will be successful, rewarding and enjoyable.
Our objective is to begin where you are and help you get to where you would like to be!
We encourage you to join the exciting and enriching learning environment at Kachemak Bay Campus.
